Similar Technologies Notice
Your Community Games uses browser storage and similar technologies only where they are strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for.
Version 1.0. Effective from 14 August 2026.
What we use
- Sign-in storage: your browser keeps your sign-in session so you stay signed in between pages and visits, and so a page refresh during a game does not sign you out.
- Security storage: short-lived values used to complete sign-in, password reset and invitation links safely.
- Essential settings: small values that remember safe preferences, such as whether you have already seen a one-time welcome card.
Exactly what is stored, checked on a clean browser
Before you sign in, this site stores one small value of its own: your browser remembers where you had scrolled to, so moving back does not lose your place. There are no cookies, no advertising storage, no behavioural analytics, no cross-site tracking and no requests to any other company. Everything else in the list below appears only once you sign in and only because it is needed.
Before you sign in
- Session storage, tsr-scroll-restoration: remembers where you had scrolled to, so moving back does not lose your place. Cleared when the tab closes.
After you sign in
- Local storage, sb-…-auth-token: your sign-in session. Set only when you sign in, removed when you sign out.
- Local storage, cgp.current-community: the community you are currently playing in, so the right night opens.
- Local storage, community-games.join-intent, community-games.admin-invite-intent and community-games.host-intent: short-lived notes of the link you followed, so signing in takes you where you were going.
- Local storage, a one-time welcome marker for each community: so an arrival card is not shown to you twice.
All of it is first-party and set by this site alone. No cookies are used for advertising or measurement, and no third-party company sets anything.
Why we do not ask for consent
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, consent is not required for storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for, or that is used solely to carry out a communication. Each item is judged on that test on its own merits, not simply because we set it ourselves:
- Scroll position: strictly necessary for the presentation of the page you asked for. It holds no identifier, is never read by us and disappears when the tab closes.
- Sign-in session: strictly necessary. Without it you would be signed out on every page.
- Current community: strictly necessary. Without it the service cannot tell which community's night to open.
- Join, invitation and host intent: strictly necessary to complete the specific link you chose to follow.
- One-time welcome marker: strictly necessary to deliver the arrival step of the service once rather than repeatedly. It is not used to measure or profile you.
Nothing here is used for advertising, profiling, measurement or any purpose beyond delivering the service, so we do not present a consent banner. If we ever want to store something that fails this test, we will ask you first and it will be genuinely optional.
What we do not use
- No advertising technologies.
- No advertising or profiling identifiers.
- No cross-site tracking.
- No third-party analytics or marketing tags in the pilot.
- No selling or sharing of device data.
Your control
You can clear this storage at any time using your browser settings. Clearing it will sign you out and may end a game in progress, because the service will no longer be able to recognise your session.
